We get it. We know they're lazy, they're not capable of running the legislature, they're overwhelmed with fulfilling the civic duty they signed up for and unwilling to keep the public trust, but this is atrocious. In the first day of voting to set up the rules for the 2021 Montana legislative session the Republicans moved to take away citizens voices and kill bills in committee with no votes or consideration. The rule failed on the first vote because Barry Usher skipped out on it. The Helena IR reported: "The amendment first died on a 9-9 tie with Rep. Barry Usher, R-Billings, absent and not having given his proxy to another lawmaker." They had to then re-hold the vote to pass it, luckily it still must pass the House on the first legislative day, Monday January 4th, 2021, so citizens can still express their input to change this lazy bill. This is a sad sign for the complete debacle of a session ahead full of unforced errors, mistakes and downright nutty actions and bills we'll see. Stay tuned for more updates.
